What: Vera Tran Award Contest
Prize: One award, certificate and $1,000.00 USD
Deadline: April 5th, 2010
Eligibility: Open only to those who plan to attend Len Duong camp 2010 and who have attended at least one Len Duong camp and was able to apply the skills learned at the camp to deliver a project at the local community. The local community can be anywhere.

Award description:

To honor Vera Tran’s dedication to service, VCSA established the Len Duong camp – Vera Tran Award contest and opened this contest to all past Len Duong campers. We encourage past Len Duong camper to apply for this award by featuring a community service project that was led by the contestant and has created a great impact to the local communities. The contestant needs to describe what she/he has learned from past Len Duong camp that she/he could apply to this project and be able to deliver the project successfully.

Each contestant will please submit the following:

1. A filled out application (click here to download form)
2. A personal resume detailing background, field of interest, and contact information
3. A project description to be entered into the contest and it should be led or coordinated by the contestant and was successfully delivered (fill in the project information in the attached form).
4. An essay typewritten in English or Vietnamese, at least 500 words, font size 12, double spacing, stating what you have learned from Len Duong camp that you can utilized and implement in the project described above. What inspired you to do the project and your expectation for camp Len Duong 2010.

The winning essay will be published in Len Duong camp program book and the winner will be asked to share with campers his/her project that will be featured.
